Waha Oil uses Fiberspar RTP pipe to commission Gas Wells
December 28, 2025
Waha Oil Company (WOC) announced today that it had successfully completed the drilling, testing, and commissioning of gas wells BB19 and BB20 in Al-Faregh Field.
The early connection of the two gas wells was made possible by utilizing NOV Fiberspar RTP pipe (Fiberspar) as the mechanical flowline for both these gas wells. Under the supervision of NOV- Certified Installers, arranged by Zulal Oil and Water Services, WOC was able to deploy Fiberspar at speeds >1.1km per day at Al-Faregh. The specific Fiberspar pipe used was 6’’, 1500psi rated.
Waha reported that well BB19 recorded a daily production rate of 14 million cubic feet of gas, along with 770 barrels of condensate, while well BB20 produced approximately 12 million cubic feet of gas and 840 barrels of condensate, using a 64/32 production choke.
This achievement reflects National Oil Corporation (NOC) directives at increasing production rates, and particularly, WOC’s aim to increase the national gas production at Al-Faregh Field – Phase Two. Al-Faregh is the primary source of gas for the Sarir power plant, in addition to its vital role in supplying the coastal network with natural gas to meet the local demand.

WOC’s ability to connect these wells rapidly, using Fiberspar pipe, builds upon the substantial operational success it has achieved using this market leading RTP pipe technology from NOV; in less than 24 months, WOC has deployed over 270km Fiberspar pipe to connect > 100 wells, representing c. 85,000 barrels per day oil-production.
